but not right now, so here is an update.
Supernatural and Castle have started, my two favorite shows. i found out that the replica amulet i bought has AWESOME significance in the show. (and i just wanted it because it was like deans)
I am having fun at school, have a best friend who is like me enough that we get along amazingly (its almost creepy really) and who is different enough that we can share new things that the other doesnt know about.
and thats all i can think of to share.
dang it. maybe i dont have a life.

So char wants me to blog more...
i think she just wants to be able to stay on longer when she says she's checking blogs.
life is good, if a little lonely.
see, my family went to yosemite, without me.
the girl who was DYING to go.
so instead ive had the run of the house, which is nice. i get to stay up late and chill out where ever whenever as long as it doesnt interfere with work or church. not bad.
so i watch movies, read, eat. loads of fun.
ive been hanging out with a friend and her sisters whose parents are also out of town. theyre pretty awesome.
thats about all right now. i think i want to go get some chocolate.

appeasment- sound familliar?
Scenario A. A man walks into a field with a briefcase where a little girl is picking flowers. His name is Mr. Nari. He then opens up his briefcase and pulls out the components for a gun. As he is reconstructing his weapon, another man, Mr. O, walks up and asks Mr. Nari what he’s doing. Mr. Nari responds by informing him of his intention to shoot the little girl. Mr. O is alarmed and asks Mr. Nari, “What do you want?” “Just to talk, that’s all,” responds Mr. Nari. Mr. O is relieved. All he wanted was to talk! So Mr. O obliges him and begins delivering a powerful argument against shooting people. Meanwhile, Mr. Nari nods his head in agreement as he keeps on working at putting together his gun. Soon he springs the last part into place, raises his weapon, and shoots the little girl dead. “What did you do that for!?” demands Mr. O. To which Mr. Nari replies, “You idiot, I told you that was what I was going to do and you sat here chatting away, giving me the time I needed to pull it off.”
Scenario B. A man walks into a field with a briefcase where a little girl is picking flowers. His name is Mr. Nari. He then opens up his briefcase and pulls out the components for a gun. As he is reconstructing his weapon, another man, Mr. M, walks up and asks Mr. Nari what he’s doing. Mr. Nari responds by informing him of his intention to shoot the little girl. Mr. M is alarmed and pulls out a gun of his own and points it at Mr. Nari. “Don’t even think about it,” warns Mr. M. “Whoa, relax, I just want to talk,” says Mr. Nari. “Throw that away, and then we’ll talk,” replied Mr. M. Mr. Nari pauses, stares at the gun pointed at him, then reluctantly obliges. And so they talk.
Scenario A is appeasement, scenario B is diplomacy with preconditions. Most tyrants with diabolical ambition have complex schemes that require a lot of time to acheive. To acquire the time needed, they often use diplomacy as a stalling mechanism. So long as they are giving up nothing in the talks, they are getting something for nothing. That is why the word “appeasement” is used to describe these sorts of situations: the well-intentioned head of state gives up something the tyrant needs (time) for nothing in hopes he’ll change his mind. History has shown this to be ineffective. That is the purpose of preconditions. A precondition is something the leader must give up before formal diplomacy is engaged.

Obama and Hitler
Ive been watching Valkyrie.
Any one who hangs out with me knows i like war story movies. I like to hear about brave men and women who stood up for what is right, regardless of opposition. Watching what Hitler made of his Germany im struck by the strange similarities between him and our new President. They are not identical unfortunately. it would make it far to easy to point out. more like they mirror each other.
Obama wants to take care of us, lift our every burden
Hitler showed people how to care for themselves, going so far as to find a scapegoat
Obama doesnt want us to think
Hiter showed the Germans how to think.
Obama strives for popularity from the youth
Hitler molded and trained them into his own personal army.
Obama weakens the populace by disarming us
Hitler armed his forces so the populace didnt have to
Obama is vauge in what he promises to deliver, never holding up under the scrutiny we give him in the privacy of our homes
Hitler appealed to the wants of the masses, made them think he could give them what they wanted without truly promising anything
Obama abuses the power of his office, going so far as to claim powers he has no right to.
Hitler abused the power entrusted to him by the people, taking power away from those who had it and distributing it or keeping it as he see fit.
Obama appeals to the lowwest common denominator to help care for our nation
Hitler encouraged every one to work for the good of the nation
Obama shows and then tries to cover his anti-semitism
Hitler made know his anti-semetic leanings
and last, but not least
Hitler wanted to control the world
Obama wants the world to control us.
Feel free to post this where ever you can

happy fathers day
lets do something about it other than give dad a new tie (or in my fathers case, a waffle maker)
lets do something for fathers everwhere: change their place in america's idea of family. stop letting the media treat them like ATMs, deadbeats, blind overseers or clueless morons, because it simply isnt true.
I love my father, and respect a lot of fathers that i know, to the point that im wishing i could find a decent one to start a family with, (but all the good ones are already taken)
Hollywood, and America's 'family court system' are just as bad for our families as Prop 8 failing would have been.
these guys have said it alot better than i, so if you can take, just a little bit more time out of your busy schedule, check them out.

obama=commie
When the government takes over business it is Communism, plain and simple.
THERE IS NO TWO WAYS ABOUT IT!!!!
People make such a hubbub about 'the separation of church and state' WHICH WAS NEVER EVEN MENTIONED in the Constitution or the Declaration, or ANY official document. NEVER MENTIONED!! it was in a personal letter from thomas jefferson who, little known fact WASNT IN AMERICA DURING THE DRAFTING AND RATIFICATION OF THE CONSTITUTION.
GOVERNMENT AND BUSINESS CANNOT MIX, AND OBAMA DOESNT HAVE THE POWER TO TAKE OVER A BUSINESS, NO MATTER HOW MUCH BETTER HE THINKS HE CAN MAKE IT!!!!!
he cannot do it unless we let him, and by the lack of uproar (except from me, my family and conservative talk show hosts) we are letting him get away with it!
obama is a commie, and we are swiftly turning to socialism, and then to communism.
UNLESS WE DO SOMETHING.
im making my stand
are you?

Political Correctness
i was listening to some talk radio this morning, and something i was informed of kinda pissed me off. what is with the trend of changing a term given something to make it 'less offensive' or more 'socially acceptable'?
During World War 2 many of our soldiers came home 'shell shocked'. the trauma of war changed them so much they had difficulty trying to recover from it. it was something only soldiers got, something only they suffered (the shell of shell shock being a reference to the shells of guns or bombs). now its termed 'post tramatic stress disorder'. now im not saying that this is a bogus excuse to fall back on when youve had a bad experience, because any one can suffer from PTSD. and therein lies the problem. any one can suffer from it, which means that any one can say they have it, and the doctors cant say 'no you dont', teachers cant say 'youre just fine' society cant say 'shape up or get out' because that would be discrimination.
If any one can suffer from it, and any one can say they have it, we have to deal with the liars that are going to use the system to their advantage. these are the same type of people who are on welfare buying plasma TVs, high rolling cars and voting for obama. (because hes going to pay my morgatge and put gas in my car).
i was hit by a car when i was seven. it was a pretty traumatic experience, at the time. but then i went to school, and showed the police pictures for show and tell. I GOT OVER IT. there are people who fall back on the crutch that they cant be fully functioning members of society because they had a bad experience. this devaules the claim of the people who truly do suffer from it who want to overcome it more than printing more money devalues the dollar.
but this isnt what i wanted to talk about.
the War On Terror has been renamed 'Overseas Contingency Plan'
and terrorism has been renamed 'Man Made Disasters'
Things are named they way they are for a REASON, and that reason (offensive or not) gives the word its connotation, its meaning. how bad does a 'man made disaster' sound? like a flood, or a brige collapsing, right? remember 9/11? Pearl Harbor? Oklahoma City Bombing? ANY SCHOOL SHOOTING? those are nothing, just man made disasters. it could happen any where, to any one. its nothing.
when you change the name of a thing, you change the thing itself. when you devalue the meaning of words, change them to be less offensive, to mean somthing than what theyre supposed to be, things change all around. like a stone in the water, only the ripples never stop.
So watch what you say. keep using old phrases. dont give in to this new trend of changing the meaning to suit your uses. the old words did fine for hundreds of years. why do we need to change now?
BECOME LITERATE
Strive to be well spoken, and NEVER let anyone Change your Words.

Patriot
i met one of the greatest patriots tonight. Rick Green spoke at a function pulled together by a family friend. it was so amazing to see him again. (i saw him last year in Denver, with his kids)
this man is from the great state of texas, and very loud and proud about it. he has made so many fantastic achievments in his life, business builder and owner, lawyer, congressman (a recovering politician, hes six years clean off the ballot)
Rick knows more than many history teacers about the foundation of our great country, has studied it in earnest, wanting to understand it so he can teach other people about it.
when my parents and i walked up to him this evening to intoduce ourselves he asked me how old i was, and upon hearing the answer immidiately told me i needed to apply for the patriot acadamy. i happily informed him that i was working on my application, which he was very happy to hear.
I cant tell you guys how awesome it was to hear him speak. i'll just have to show you. we have an old dvd of his, and when they send it out, ill get the recording of tonight. he is such an amazing man, im just so glad ive been blessed with the opportunity to meet him and see him speak.
i cant wait to get to texas this summer. im praying that i get in, because this man knows what hes talking about, and while im not saying hes the answer to the problems plauging us today, i know he has the right idea.
Check him out, you wont regret it!

souflee
is fabulously delicious! char and dad made four little souflees using a recipie they found in the paper. they were delicious, and so cute. they were decadent. i think i should learn how to make them. i think i should learn how to cook better. not that im terrible, but im not very good.
school is going pretty well. ill have some new artwork posted on my artsite soon(ish). i love my watercolour class. its so much fun!
and im finally getting some friends. bri, who loves musicals and laurel, who loves...well... im not too sure what she loves, but i'll find out. bri is from my asl class, which means i get some one to practice with, which is difficult, because i dont want my skills to deteriorate, and i have a midterm coming up. yeah, thats going to be fun. i need to focus. but more on that later.

death and the funeral
so my grand father died last saturday, and his burial and memorial service were today. im his fifth granddaughter, and the last to recieve a cedar chest from him.
its nice seeing all the family again. i havent been here in eight years. thats a long time. every thing is so much smaller than i remember. but the swing is still there. i loved that swing. even hitting the tree it was attatched to. it was all part of the childhood building experience.
ill write more later. right now i want to hang with my cousins

my uncle's birthday party
was TOTALLY ROCKIN'! whenever my aunts get together and theres music, you can count on not only dancing, but a dance circle, loud singing, and it going on as long as we can stand. michelle, denise, donna, my mom and i were totally keeping it happening. some of the cousins didnt want to join in, because they think we were an embarassment. they would for some songs ('air', 'so what' 'let it rock') but some others, classics, they didnt want to come in for. lame, but what ever. i went and requested some songs, because i didnt know or like what he put on. he played 'nine in the afternoon' and i was the only one dancing, but i was ok with that. and i sernaded my aunt lisa with 'lovin feeling' and my cousin heather with a song ive forgotten, and my mom and aunt michelle with 'i love you baby'. sam kept messing with the dance circle. it was annoying, because when we get together like that, we have people go in the middle and sorta show us what theyve got. sam would get in the middle, not even dance, just stand and...be an idiot.
when i dance, i sorta like to show off, because i like when my aunts say 'go laura' or 'work it' or stuff like that. and when sam has to be annoying like that, it kinda spoils my fun. sure, i get that no one was going into the middle, but that was partly because he was CONSTANTLY there. annoying.
but my aunts are all the best. i mentioned that if we werent mormon, we'd still be doing what we were doing, just doing it drunk. i love my aunts, and i told my aunt susie, that when i grow up, i hope im just like my mother, because shes totally hip and happening. as are my aunts. i love you all!

Happy New Year!
my mom is the best matron in my whole world. we just went to hot dog on a stick and walked around the mall. she even went into the comic book store with me. nice reminicing there. some of the toys were of things we wanted or watched when i was really little. then we went to the sweet factory and bought bananas. i had to take them away a few times, because she was going to make herself sick. and we went to walden books, which is such a mall bookstore. hardly anything there. i was looking for a copy of inkspell, but they dont have anything. but i noticed the 'movie novelization'f inkheart is one third or one fourth of the original book. thank you so much hollywood. as if its too hard to read a book thats going to be a movie, theyve turned it back into a book. its like LiteratureLite! same story, less calories. but as any dieter can tell you just because its 'lite' doesnt make it the same. but i digress. i will go see the movie, i just wont read the movie novelization. sounds fair to me.
we also stopped in hot topic, which was fun. she didnt recognize the place, and she laughed over the twilight stuff with me. they have GLITTER now. ugh. ive got better stuff than that if you want to have vampire glitter. come on. and she laughed over some of the other stuff there, oohed and aahed over the cool bags for bands and games and stuff.
and of course we went to sees candy. i got me some good chocolate. sees is the best! we always go to sees...
and just talking with my mom was fun. i dont get to just talk to her often enough, and i always love it when we do. bonding over hot dog on a stick, thats me and my mom.
anyway, im going to go pretend to watch the game over here. catch you on the flip side!
